Refund policy
Because many items sold by The Collected Chapter are vintage, pre-owned, one-of-a-kind, or limited in quantity, we ask that customers carefully review all product photographs, descriptions, dimensions, and condition notes before purchasing.
Returns are accepted on eligible items within 14 days of delivery. To be eligible for a return, the item must be returned in the same condition in which it was received and in its original packaging when applicable.
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item arrived damaged, materially different from the listing description, or an incorrect item was sent.
To request a return, please contact hello@thecollectedchapter.com within 14 days of delivery. Do not return an item without first contacting us.
Once an approved return is received and inspected, a refund will be issued to the original payment method. Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to an error by The Collected Chapter or a confirmed shipping damage issue.
Because vintage and pre-owned items naturally show signs of age, wear, patina, minor imperfections, or previous use, these characteristics are not considered defects when they have been disclosed in the listing or are visible in the photographs.
The following items are final sale and not eligible for return unless they arrive damaged or were misrepresented:
- Personalized or customized items
- Gift cards
- Digital products or downloadable materials
- Clearance or explicitly marked final-sale items
- Items damaged after delivery through misuse, improper handling, or alteration
If your order arrives damaged, contact us within 48 hours of delivery and include photographs of the damaged item, outer packaging, inner packaging, and shipping label. Please keep all packaging until the issue is resolved, as the carrier may require it for a claim.
If an item is approved for return because it was damaged in transit or materially misrepresented, The Collected Chapter will provide instructions for the return or claim process.
Refund processing times vary by bank or payment provider after a refund has been issued.
