Vintage Nakagama Japan Kyusu Teapot – Floral & Gold Japanese Side Handle Tea Pot – 7”
Beautiful vintage Japanese Nakagama (中窯) kyusu teapot featuring a classic side-handle design and colorful Japanese-inspired decoration.
The cream ceramic body is decorated with white chrysanthemums, green foliage, bold black Japanese characters and geometric panels in rust red, cream and gold. Gold-tone detailing adds an elegant accent to the distinctly retro design.
The removable lid includes a steam vent, while the interior features a built-in perforated ceramic tea strainer at the base of the spout—a traditional feature of Japanese kyusu teapots.
The underside is marked 中窯 JAPAN, identifying the piece as Japanese-made Nakagama pottery. Lita Xú Líng Kelley
Details: approximately 7 inches across, approximately 0.82 lb, ceramic/porcelain, side handle, removable lid, built-in tea strainer, marked Nakagama / 中窯 Japan.
Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related wear. There is some wear to the gold trim, particularly around the lid knob, along with light surface wear and discoloration associated with previous use. I do not see an obvious crack or major chip in your photographs.
